Mr.Ashok Mahindra, a wildlife enthusiast and a photographer , authored a coffee tabled book titled “Capturing Wildlife Moments in India”

I had the privileged to read the book before it hit the stands, I was all excited to get a copy of the book as the excitement was due to the fact that I have always been a big time animal & a nature lover. To get my hands on this book was just pure gold for me!

The Indian Alligator – Ghariyal

The book is a coffee table book which showcases a lot of detailed information in the form of both images & text about the flora & fauna of India. People usually travel to far off lands abroad to get in touch with nature but they forget the rich diversity which India itself has & from the book, Mr.Mahindra tries to bring out the essence of the Indian Wildlife & Nature to his readers.

The book showcases a huge amount of species ranging from the most common & endearing, the Indian Peacock to a host of not well known species of different categories.

The book also contains some really interesting & beautiful images of the animals found in India, which will make you exclaim WOW! in excitement just by flipping through it.

It’s a refreshing change from the run of the mill books which we get & turns out to be a good read as well as a fun book which can be used for both light reading as well as serving as an encyclopedia of sorts about the different animals & species which can be found in the Indian Subcontinent.

Black Buck

A definite buy for people who are looking for change from the usual, either too much information centric or too much of a preachy book on nature & environment, it’s a perfect balance between the two & Mr.Ashok Mahindra has done a fabulous job which is visible from the amount of research & trouble he might have gone through to compile this book.

A definite buy for me!

“Capturing Wildlife Moments in India” contains 120 photographs of animals and birds of India, photographed from visits to over 30 parks, sanctuaries and other locations.

It is being published by Oxford University Press(OUP) & Bombay Natural History Society(BNHS).The book will be available at most of the major retail outlets across India and also through online retail sites like Amazon, Flipkart etc.It will also be available for sale through the BNHS website and is priced at Rs.1450″
